How is my learning style impact my teaching style? As a learner, based on my assessment, I travel among the four quadrants almost at the same way. I think I am a learner who adapts to the different types of teaching. I love and appreciate to learn regardless the techniques and methods of teaching. Thus, I might learn from different types of teaching, I enjoy more when the instructor use opportunities to encourage creating images or collaborative groups or creative experience , experiences that change my thinking and infuse my curiosity to learn and research. I always consider my learning to be on going and lifelong.
Definitely, when I look at my teaching style assessment. I realized that my high scores are in quadrants one and four. Confirming that learning is a social experience, I create opportunities and activities for students to discuss and collaborate with others to connect with the concept learned. I ensure to my students to connect with the concept by helping them understand why this concept is important to learn and how I can utilize it. In real life situation. I also focus more on supporting students practice and take the role of the facilitator. I do lecture for those few student who need the direct instruction. I always focus on creating projects/performance assessment to expand on the learning and ally indifferent situations. Yes, I totally agree that my preference learning styles are influencing my teaching styles.

Learning styles are the preferences we utilize to perceive and process an experience (McCarthy, 2009). This means that educators, also have learning preferences. Often, the learning preference a teacher has is reflected in the way he or she instructs.
For me, my preferred teaching instructing style was a 3 but I was classified as a Type I learner. I believe my style does play a role in the expectations I have for my students and sometimes it may cause me to not want to be flexible with certain things, like assignment deadlines. However, I have learned the importance of trying to meet my students where they are and so I end up adopted practices and methods that I believe allow me to provide a better learning experience for my students.
While I may prefer a classroom model that is built around discussions and activities that allow me to connect new concepts with past experiences, I cannot allow my instruction to only focus on these things.
I guess my style influences my teaching by reminding to not only stretch myself to other learning and teaching styles but to also include elements that will encourage my student to grow and develop skills that will stimulate their whole brain.
